So we had mom’s annual physical yesterday, refilled her meds for the year, and got orders for blood work, a mammogram and ultrasound to check her thyroid nodules for comparison from last year. It was a new PA. Josh was gone. I’m not sure I have confidence in this doctors office, it’s a different provider every time we go. And they poked her 3 times to get her blood. It’s so hard not to jump up and push the MA aside to do it myself.

PA-“any problems with your memory?” Mom-“oh no! I’ve never had that problem, thank goodness!”

It’s amazing how she talks in complete sentences, making pretty good sense in front of others. Then the minute we leave and get back in the car it’s back to Mumbo jumbo. I honestly don’t understand how the Alzheimer’s brain works. If I didn’t know better, I’d think she’s playing a joke on me.
