Happy 4th!
It’s been hard to write anything positive about moms Alzheimer’s lately. She’s really confused and struggling more and more. I know these last few months of quarantine have taken toll on her. Although I believe we have been pretty lucky our lives haven’t dramatically changed as some, just not being able to go to the senior center for exercise or church, or JoAnns to visit, they are really adding up for mom.
She gets exercise daily walks and just getting outside with us camping. But it’s not the same as social interactions with others.

She’s having a hard time talking. Understand and hearing words are nearly impossible. But she likes to laugh when other people are laughing. Which is a lot in our home, thank goodness.

She still has a great appetite, in the right settings. If we don’t sit to eat, either in the car or at the dining table she’s way too easily distracted and forgets she is supposed to be eating or drinking at all.
Kristy has a scare last week, mom tried to faint on her getting up out of the car. She rushed her home and we pushed fluids and I did a quick assessment. She was okay after drinking, but dehydration is a daily battle with her. She just forgets to drink no matter how many full bottles and cups we keep at arms length in her room.
