Another flood

Jack walked by grandmas room to hear running water again. She has a thing with running water. We have tried to Alzheimer’s proof the kitchenette, removing stoppers in both sinks, but somehow she still manages to make waterfalls. This time it was stopped up with her “throat coat” tea bag. I refuse to shut off the water in the sinks, because that seems like a recipe for a dehydration disaster. And I’ve thought about a Tabletop fountain, but it may just end up covering up the real sounds of running water, then the disaster zone would be worse. But I’m at a loss on how to prevent these floods that seem to be once every couple months. The boys cleaned it up promptly, but there’s still a “wet smell”. Kristy tried baking soda this morning and it seems better.

Christmas is in the air, mom has been attempting to play Christmas songs on the piano, so she understands what season we are in for once in a long while. This weekend we are planning to bake cookies for the neighbors again.

Grandma Jo has had the flu so we have been keeping our distance, hopefully all sickness is past by Christmas time. Otherwise it’s chicken noodle soup, on guard and airborne for Christmas Day.

  1. How about a small water fountain to make the noise of running water? It should only reuse a cup or so, so maybe if it spills it won’t cause such a big mess.
