Jacks birthday

Oh man, my baby turned 10 and we did some spoiling….

We had dinner at Fugi’s complete with sushi at Jacks request.

Joe was the only one to catch the thrown food, and impressed the Grandmas…When Hannah and Dillon got in the 4th of July Festivities started…

nature put on a better show then fireworks mom enjoying the fireworks Then we took Hannah and Dillon to Heise Pizza again as tradition dictates….see I was there!

At Heise we ran into my cousin Vicki, moms sister Linda’s daughter, which was a “small world” moment

Then showed them around the farmers market. Mom refuses to share her scone, 😆 …

She seems to be retreating into herself more and more, especially when other people are around. She cannot follow simple conversation and it frustrates her. She’s spending more and more time in her room, and I really have to work to get her out. It’s hard to balance letting her have alone time, and feeling like I’m not neglecting her. She cannot initiate any type of activity, and if I don’t tell her what to do, she would just sit in her chair for hours. I know she’s feeling left out, but that’s the nature of the beast that is Alzheimer’s! I hate it.

This one is Not an Alzheimer’s quote, but one that really spoke to me….

  1. YAY for you in getting Karen out and about. She really seemed to enjoy Jack’s birthday party and the fourth celebrations. Does Kristy have a difficult time getting her to go out?

    • They have a good routine, but there has been times that she has been out and mom has had enough, and demanded to go home, once in a movie theater when they were sitting through opening trailers.
