Christmas cards & temple visit

Guided mom through Christmas card writing and we picked up some gift cards. It was a two day project for those 4 cards. Even though I write out a list of her children and siblings, I don’t think she can do more then 4. She gets much too frustrated, even with me doing the majority of the work. I left my phone recording while I took a shower, after trying to make it a simple as I could for her and she still only got one card written out. It has to be so frustrating for her. This is just a 2 minute clip

Last year she protested that $50 gift cards per family was “way too much”, and “I’m not putting them through college” so she sent $20. But this year she didn’t balk much. So your welcome 😉

Susie took mom to the temple yesterday again, they were gone for almost 3 hours

We tried to go to the Christmas party but because it’s a social situation where she has trouble communicating she always becomes “contagious” with her scratchy throat and dripping nose. She didn’t miss much. It was not as good as the Jerusalem journey last week. But Jack got to sit on Santa’s lap.

  1. This Alzheimer’s is really a sad disease. Hating to see what it has done to Karen. I saw on Facebook that her good friend in AZ. died. Do you remember Sue Jacobsen, Karen’s good friend and neighbor, who cut Karen’s hair? Her husband, Bart, passed away. I’ll be getting my Christmas cards out as soon as the Post Office send me the stamps is ordered two weeks ago! Have a wonderful Christmas Season, and please stay in touch. 🎄🎄⛪️🎄🎄⛄️❄️🎅🏻

    • I did see that. Mom had thought he died many months ago, so I did not bring it up with her. They were great support system for mom when she lived there. I hope Sue has comfort and peace this holiday season.
