Back to homeschool!
I see all the cute back to school pictures popping up in my social media. We are back to homeschooling again.
Instead of back to school shopping, we are deciding what curriculum the boys have grown into this year. Making a plan for extracurricular activities, what book series they want to delve into for fun reading. We completed the book for our family book club, “The Glass Castle” by Jeannette Walls. Such a great memoir. Highly recommend. We laughed, we cried, maybe more me, but the boys reading skills are amazing us every day.

Joe started counciling with an amazing LCSW Rachel, and he seems to really enjoy it so far.
We passed vision and dental exams, got physicals done. Well I still need to schedule mine. Blah. Nurses make the worst patients. I should know.
We got a good quick case of covid over with. The whole house all at once, I held out to be the last, dang super immune system tried to kill me. 😑
Working a ton in the yard and house, getting the spare room ready to rent out. Still working on that, cause why not. Troy and Kiyomi are coming in from Japan at the end of September so we have an excuse for a definite deadline now. No more procrastination.!

We took a field trip up to west Yellowstone yesterday to visit the amazing Wolf/Bear sanctuary since its been before 2020 that we’d seen it. They have an otter rescue now. I love supporting a place like that.

Joe and dad assembled their new computers from the starting components. Joe saved his money all summer from working with dad, in order to afford exactly what he researched for. The kid speaks in computerese. It’s definitely a foreign language to me.
Books show up Wednesday, they will get their den/office situated for school next week, one more week of freedom for the week-long family reunion. Then back on a schedule!

Big kid bragging be warned….

My older kids are so private and rarely share social media of personal accomplishments. I’m just so stinking proud of both Hannah and David, and the people that they have become.
Hannah has found her groove with marketing in Portland with an amazing company, who was started years ago by one of Shaun’s really good lifetime friends, Portland Leather.

David is a huge help with our Image business. He’s been “seconding” on large shoots, editing, confirming with clients. His quality of work ethic and dedication to growing the business is appreciated and so necessary. They’re both a quiet reticence and so devoted to their work.

And he’s a huge help with Grandma Jo and an amazing influence on his brothers. I’m so happy he’s close now. I don’t know how long it will last, so I’m cherishing every moment of this current life.
