Jack

Jack is loving Middle school.  We all decided, now that mom is back to full time, that it was time to shake things back up in the household. Joe will still be homeschooling with dad being teacher and taskmaster. Jack has headed back to public school, and is thriving.

It was a months long decision and process. I was not looking forward to giving him back to the system. He’s grown so much with Homeschooling. I’m so proud of how much he’s learned these last couple years we have had him at home. He’s been a huge help, and so pleasant even when he’s doing hard things.

He’s a master cook, chef, baker and a wonderful artist and photographer. He loves reading and exercising.Β  And socializing.Β  He’s generous, thoughtful and the best partner to do all the homestead chores and canning and gardening with. His artistic imagination astounds us daily.

I plead that school won’t break him. Sounds dramatic,  I know. I just can’t imagine how hundreds of other 12-14 year-olds under one roof wouldn’t negatively (hopefully positively) affect each other. He’s social networks have been around extremely diverse age groups for almost 2 years.

He’s mature for his age and has distinct goals, work, money (saver/gifter), travel (to Japan), and college (teaching degree).

I cried when I dropped him off the first day of school.  He will do great. πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™
