Goals

I have decided to make our 5 year vision board here….. To live a healthier lifestyle, eating pesticide-free food and breathing clean air. For safety, either from things now, or things that may come down the road.

We have secured a HELOC and are currently looking for property on mid-southern Oregon. We plan on making a trip in the next few weeks to a Klamath Falls and meet with a real estate agent. We have visions of a 100 acre huge community, or down to a smaller 10 acre campground size, depending on finances and partner relationships. We picked this part of the country due to the price, climate, laws, and zoning regulations.

After a week long very educational trip to the Monolithic compound in Texas, aka Hannah’s family home. We always knew we eventually wanted to build our dream dome home, but never had been exposed to the rental, eco village, pedestrian street parts, until now.

Needless to say the spark has recently became a full blown fire. And we have been determined to see this dream all the way through. Hopefully finding like minded people along the way. We have been dropping hints to a few friends and family, but it’s a fine line to come off as sounding crazy.

SO HERE’S OUR CRAZY IN ALL IT’S GLORY ……

We will split our dream up in around $25,000 to $50,000 at a time, paying it off as we go. First step, research and secure the land. Second step is power and/or solar, septic and well water, land clearing. Third step layout of the land and starting foundations and building. Forth step, By spring next year, David and I and whoever else we can recruit will go back down to Texas and take the Monolithic “Dome builder workshop”. If we can learn to build our own domes, they are half the price for the shell, $20,000 for someone else to do it, $10,000 for us (Shaun actually built monolithic domes in his 20’s). We may need to work off grid for the first year or two, so I’m researching alternative living, such as loveable loo concepts. and water collection techniques .

One (or more) geodesic Greenhouse will be built on site. A 33 ft will feed 8-10 people for the year. We will have a food forest both inside and out side. A pond inside the Greenhouse with fish for eating. Of course chickens, both meat and egg birds, possibly a few pigs. To provide a community sustaining organic agriculture.

We all have strengths and we would like to find like minded people with strengths that we are lacking,

Me- Financial, gardening, husbandry

Shaun- Dome building, business relationships, vision

David- work ethic, computers

Partners-??? ANYONE?? ANYONE?? any family or friends who care? Or read my blog?? I know of one at least…. @Andrea ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿคซ
