Karen
Still hanging in there. She is healthy due to lots of caretaking diligence. Between Kristy, Jen, myself and the hospice team, she may live another year at this pace 🤷🏼♀️.
Eating lots of smoothies still, occasional bites of solid food. We have learned to blend everything blendable. Spinach, peanut butter, every fruit and vegetable possible. Protein powder, honey, ice cream and almond milk.
We replaced her mattress top with one the inflates and deflates air pockets to reduce pressure points due to her boney, no body fat whatsoever.
She still walks around grabbing at everyone and won’t let go. She always needs to be touched and close to whomever is in her sight. And her grip is surprisingly strong still.
Absolutely no comprehensive speech. Occasionally a complete sentence slips out. But rarely relevant. The only question she understands is “Are you hungry?” And the answer is always “Yes!”
Once last week she specifically asked for ice cream. So of course we obliged.

Royal came up last weekend. I’ll post pictures when I get them.
