Today has been busy. Kristy was here as usual at 8:30. Then Megan the social worker showed up for a bit. Danny the Chaplin came for a walk and a prayer. The Hospice team delivered a new mattress topper to prevent bed sores. Missed the pharmacy tech, as usual, who was delivering meds for mom (just a Claritin for her runny nose). And of course the aide to help mom change clothes and toilet before bed. So many people. Jens been a huge help, directing traffic, communication with everyone, and keeping mom safe and fed.
We attempted a picnic to Island Park last weekend.

It wasn’t the best picnic location. But it was nice to get out for a little bit. Even if she tried to run us off the road a few times by attempting to grab the steering wheel. Once I caught her hand inches from the wheel and she hollered “Whats wrong with you!!” I don’t feel like dying today, that’s all.
Needless to say she did not ride shotgun on the way home.
Eating and drinking are still difficult. Only thickened liquids and shakes at this point. An occasional cut up watermelon or banana. The Magic Bullet Blender dad bought us for Christmas years ago is used daily.
