Spring break

I was going to wait till I got pictures back from my husband, but that may take a while (hint, hint). So my phone pictures will suffice for now….

We had one solid day Sunday, where we had Greg, Catherine, Joe, Andrea, Jared and their family here all at the same time. We attempted lunch in Johnny Carinos family room. Mom actually made it through almost the whole meal. She didn’t know who anybody was, but she was feeling the love and getting as many hugs as she could. Especially from the boys.

Mom did really well after a rough start Thursday and Friday. Greg got to witness her bad days, before he saw a couple good days. A few times on Thursday, mom was almost in a catatonic state. But once the siblings were here, laughing and talking, she perked up, and started to get animated again. Almost to the point of nervous energy mania (thank goodness for medication). She stopped her usual 1-3 napping. And Sunday night she barely slept at all. Monday morning I woke to her room completely torn apart. Clothes scattered, bedding in the bathroom, food smashed into carpet. Rewind the Nest Camara, and boy was she busy. Yesterday she’s making up sleep for lost time, she got outside with Kristy in the morning, but slept the rest of the day.

Andreas family stayed 3 nights, much to the joy of George and Jack, they had 3 sleepovers with their cousins who they miss so much. They went to the mall, played hide and seek, watched anime and Bobs burgers, played at the park, and laughed a lot. And Shaun and I got a much needed date in. Monday Andrea got thrown in the mom fire so I could run errands. And again Tuesday both Shaun and I had work. She saved my house from a mom flood, and brought home Cafe Rio, and did housework too. I was grateful for the help.

Cousin sleepover

If the past indicates the future, we will now have at least a week of downturn in her mental stability. I’m bracing myself for it.
