Sometimes you just need to escape

Starting on Monday we had to return the rental car to Salt Lake airport and pick up the car from the mechanic. That was an all day event, almost 8 hour round trip, and stopping in to say hi to David at his work. Thankfully Kristy has had extra time, since her business had decreased like the rest of us. So she took mom home with her for the day. We are so lucky to have Kristy. I know I say it a lot, but she just helps soooo much. She is literally our angel. Mom calls me “Kristy” more often then not, and I’m proud to say I answer every time because it’s such a compliment.

On Thursday Shaun and Jack packed up to grab a spot above Spencer an hour away. Since we are avoiding people, boon-docking the RV in a grove of trees is just what is needed. Joe, Mom and I followed after my Friday shift was over and we found them in a perfect spot across from a field of wildflowers much to moms delight!

We came home Saturday. It would have been nice to stay one more day, but with moms confusion at routine upsets and the threat of an incoming storm, we headed home. I’m very grateful mom is mobile and able to come on short walks with us. It would be nice to be more active. Jack got a new bike with all the money he’s earning with his lawn mowing jobs. I want a bike so bad, but it’s not feasible leaving mom for weekend activities are right now.

This week has been something else, globally, internationally. We have been soaking in the news with much sadness. Racism and discrimination are a huge problem. Equal rights for everyone costs nothing extra from anyone else. This monologue hit hard…. https://www.instagram.com/tv/CBGUPgBApio/?igshid=1upvaw6heh6i9
