Easter
It was a unusual holiday, no church, which mom still hasn’t caught onto that yet. We made a traditional dinner, ham, potatoes, carrots, deviled eggs, and moms favorite, coleslaw?! She had 5 helpings, and wanted more. We colored eggs, did an egg hunt in the backyard, scavenger hunt for the baskets in the house, did “1-2-3-4 I declare an egg war” (I won 😆 it’s physics).

She seems more confused then ever, I know it’s inevitable, but it always takes me by surprise. Yesterday she came in the kitchen motioning to her clothing… “what are these?!” “Your clothes?” I asked, “yes, these are not my clothes!” “Oh? well they are very pretty, best to keep them on instead of running around naked.” She laughed and walked away shaking her head. Although almost naked is nothing new, a few days back she came in the living room using her coat as a bathrobe. I guided her back to the room and pulled out clean pants to put on, she looks at me as if I was the one who lost my mind. 🤦♀️

Coleslaw recipe:

- 1/2 green & 1/4 red cabbage shredded
- carrots julienned
- 1/2 cup miracle whip
- 2 tablespoons white sugar
- 1 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon Apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Dash of pepper
Oh and CHICKENS…..
