Happy thanksgiving
We hosted a dinner at our house instead of heading to St. George and dads due to severe weather storms. One day we are raking leaves and the next is snow angels.

Dinner was great, Shaun “Alton Browned” a Turkey, and we cooked food all day. I did get mom to help mash some potatoes, but she kept disappearing into her room popping out occasionally to hum along with Christmas songs. Knowing we were busy preparing for something but still confused as to what. When everyone showed up, Shan, Rexy, Raylynn, JoAnn, mom gravitates to Raylynn as usual, wanting to play. She attempted a card game with us, but gave up after the first round, unable to follow instructions.

Yesterday we bought a dog. We are leaving to pick her up tomorrow. She’s a labradoodle, tentative name of Marley. We gathered supplies at a couple pet stores. Mom loves dogs as much as children. I hope it will be good for her.

This week marks the first time mom forgot my name. I was working in the kitchen and she came up from behind me, singsong like and said “Kristy! No……….” she trailed off, struggling to remember my name. I just kept quiet, not wanting to embarrass her, and pretending I didn’t hear that. Now she doesn’t call me by name. In fact lately communication in general is very difficult for her.
