Bills

So every once in a while mom picks up and goes through the mail, when there is a bill with her name on it, she knows something is supposed to happen and feels obligated to take care if it. But the follow through is difficult. Her independent nature says “I know what I’m doing and I don’t need your help” so I observe from a distance and am there when she asks for help. At the best it keeps her occupied for a moment, at the worst she gets frustrated and huffs, puffs and emits gigantic sighs.

After about 15 to 20 minutes of listening to her recite the statement and money owed, she asked for help, “can you just do it for me?” I ended up finishing it, and she wrote her name in the return address….

(I did fill in the rest)

We also hit up the quarterly book sale at the public library while the boys played in the computer lab. They also signed up for the coding robotics course. Joe is loving homeschool. So far. That’s a whole different blog post.

With a little prompting and some guided mimicking, she found two books, one about painting, and another fiction. Score! She also enjoys talking to strangers, much to my chagrin due to my introverted nature.

Someone was craving Thai food (ahem)πŸ˜‹ Honestly, mom loves the Pad Thai. I haven’t seen her eat that much of restaurant food in a long time, but we still have enough left over for two more meals.

Yes, that is a chopstick in her drink. Our “normal” makes the waitress eyebrows raise. I just let it go, drawing attention to every mistake she may make just embarrass’ her. Nobody has any time for that. πŸ˜‰
