Garden and Soup
We have had a busy last week of summer. Again I forgot to take pictures of half of them, like back to school night, where mom had fun reminiscing about her great days of working as a teacher. Then the same night we all went to a work party.
The day before we did some back to school shopping, where the boys also found RC cars to spend their allowance on, so we took a walk around the Greenbelt and falls so they could drive their remote control cars.

On Saturday we did another trip to the farmers market to supplement my vegetable garden produce.

I didn’t grow peaches or cabbage. And this bread is fabulous, but mom found her “mother’s” recipe box (which was honestly hers), with a few transposed from Grandma Peggy. But every recipe she read through was “her mother’s” yesterday… and apparently so was my garden soup that I made… smile and nod, smile and nod….

Garden Soup *:
1/2 onion and 1 Tbs minced garlic sautéed
1 cup of diced tomatoes
3 carrots diced
1/2 head of lettuce diced
Fresh herbs, basil, rosemary, thyme
Salt and pepper to taste
1Tbs tomato paste
6 cups vegetable stock bring to boil 5 min
Add a small head of broccoli crowns cut
Zucchini deseeded and cut bite sized
Simmer for 20 minutes
*not grandmas recipe 😉
