Tooth pulled
Moms right upper molar (wisdom tooth) had lost all bone structure holding it in and has been causing problems for almost a year off and on. The dentist, Dr. Marlow is very conservative and even though she’s been in at least three times for the same issue he has been hesitant to pull the tooth. But today I insisted. I know it will get to the point to where communication for her is going to be even more difficult than it already is, and she may not be able to verbalize her pain in the future. This is the first time in the dentist chair when he asked her what the problem was, that she could point to the correct tooth bothering her, which tells me it was the right thing to do.

Moms letting the numbness set in….
I obviously fill out paperwork for her for these types of visits, but usually let her go over them and sign the bottom when required, but she’s having a harder time with even that now, today she printed “Caren” in the signature line and was very flustered. This was the second page, after I already walked her through once before on the first side, I thought I’d get a video.
It constantly amazes me how nonchalant and dismissive she is with her memory loss. Any time something like this happens her retort is “don’t get old Katie”
