Sick

Boys are both coughing and stayed home from school. I hurt my back and am trying to “walk it off”, but it’s not working. Mom won’t leave her room because of the cold and on occasion due to “post nasal drip” and swears she is contagious, mainly on Sunday mornings when I’m fully dressed for church knocking on her door telling her we have 15 minutes.

Grandma Taylor’s home sale fell through, which means another month or more of weekend renovations. I just really hate this time of year. Moms sick of the cold and ice and snow, and cabin fever is real. We are snapping at each other and tension is high.

Okay, attitude check… I am so grateful for my loving supportive immediate family. I have a good job, though my hours and paycheck leave much to be desired, they are flexible and understanding of our situation. Although we have to be super frugal, our bills are paid and we are financially secure. The boys are doing well in school, and they help so much around the house, chores, making dinner, not complaining when we shop at DI. Shaun is a wonderful husband, his business has been knocked down and thrown around, 2018 was rough, but he is still positive and focused. And he supports and loves his family with all his heart. Our home is just right, small and comfortable, keeping us warm and no major issues, just falling behind in maintenance in some areas. Mom is healthy, still knows who we are, and independent for the most part. I’m so glad we found Kristy. She’s helping to take so much responsibility off my shoulders, just keeping mom company, entertained and fed, medication given on a schedule. I’m grateful for so many things in my life.
