Diner, nail salon

We had a few outings this week. Lunch at Black Bear diner and then an appointment to get her nails cut short and manicured at Austin Kade Academy, where mom had a new audience to tell her princess Diana first responder story. And her 9/11 first responder story. This cute little 18 year old nail artist did not know what to think, but she played along well. Mom has still been picking the skin on her shoulders and back, as you can see from the above picture, she just can’t keep her hands off. When I gently remind her she denies that she is doing it. I don’t think the new medication (Seroquil) is helping with that like they thought it would, and I believe it’s making her even more sleepy, (That or winter time changes) She’s in her pajamas by 4:30pm, which means she misses out on evening activities I had planned to get her outside. On Thursday the church had a “Journey to Bethlehem” but it didn’t start til 6pm. I tried to get her excited so she would stay up, but having no concept of time makes that difficult. She bowed out as we were eating an early dinner and getting ready. I was so disappointed she didn’t come. She would have really enjoyed it.

We still went and the boys were good sports. My favorite part was the nativity scenes from all over the world. Every medium you could imagine was used, stone, wood, glass, porcelain, marble, straw, paper. I forgot my phone to take pictures (again). Joe had his phone, so I got pictures of the boys posed by the camel and donkey, but I regret not getting pictures of the live nativity and Bethlehem village they constructed in the gym.

Another day Mom and I attempted to do some Christmas shopping, but didn’t make it past lunch before she got tired.

Grand opening of a favorite Mexican restaurant Taqueria El Rodeo. I ordered the Chile Relleno, and tried to give her a second to look at the menu, but she tends to parrot what I say, without realizing she does it in these situations. So we get the same meal a lot.
